Brief Summary

IP25 is a highly branched isoprenoid (HBI) alkene synthesised by some sea ice diatoms which has been shown to be a specific, stable and sensitive measure of Arctic sea ice when detected in underlying sediments. Here, the analysis of this novel sea ice biomarker proxy has been performed from a region of the Barents Sea with higher % sea ice cover in order to further evaluate the relationship between this novel biomarker and sea ice presence.
